Rome Art Week 2022

Rome Art Week a big success!

The seventh edition of Rome Art Week (RAW) 2022 ,which ended 29th October, was a great succes for award winning artist André Romijn. André was one of the ten international artist, selected by curator and art critic Monica Ferrarini, for the exhibition 'The Hidden Side of Things'. This event took place into Galleria 'Il Leone', nearby the original seat of the papacy Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano. Every artist contributed with three works.

Dedicated to contemporary art

Rome Art Week is an annual event, spread throughout the city of Rome and totally dedicated to contemporary art. It offers a varied and well-established program focusing on different themes and topics each year. It is also an opportunity to put Rome at the center of today’s art scene and to emerge on par with other major European capitals.

Galleries, Foundations, Museums, Cultural Institutions and Associations, Academies, Italian and foreign Cultural Institutes open their doors for exhibitions, events, talks, meetings, performances and extraordinary openings. Curators, like Monica Ferrarini, present their research through exhibition projects and cultural events in different spaces around the city.

To guide the public through the multitude of proposals in Rome, RAW organizes a rich calendar of guided tours throughout the week, divided by zones or thematic areas. Also all the information about artist and venues are to be find on their website.

As the Galleria 'Il Leone' was frequently visited by some of those guided tours, Romijn's work was introduced to a wider audience. The feedback he received was very stimulating and André is already looking forward to return to Rome in 2023!

André's three selected works for this exhibition were:
