One Day workshop portrait painting in oil

In a one day workshop, André Romijn will introduce you to the classic way of making an oil portrait painting. At the end of the day and after some excercises you will paint a full underpainting.

If you haven’t any drawing or painting experience, you will learn in a few steps the basics of how to create a portrait in oil. The class is limited to five persons, to guarantee an informal atmosphere for exploring, learning and enjoyment.

What you will learn

As portrait painting is not a talent, but based on skills, anyone can learn this. I give you the tools to understand the basic techniques of a painting a portrait in oil. After that you have to practice, practice and practice! You will be surprised how much your artwork will improve. You will achieve a better knowledge of materials and methods used by the artists from the Italian Renaissance and Baroque era and also how to improve your own drawing and painting skills

Drawing Workshop Requirements

• No previous drawing experience is necessary!
• All materials are included in the course fee, but feel free to bring any of your own materials.
• This course is suitable for anyone who would like to learn to draw, or expand their current drawing practice.

One day workshop (6 hours)

9.30 – 12.30  15.00 – 18.00. Coffee, tea and water included.
