Last Friday the doors of the Portrait Painting Gallery went finally open. Not huge crowds, as due to the current COVID rules a facemask is still mandatory, but a nice and steady flow of friends and also some tourists, who came along. So far I have sold two paintings, a promising start! Saturday it was snowing in Barga! Not too long before the Sun appeared, creating stunning views of the mountains around us!
I have set up the easel and started to paint. In the beginning it was a search for the right spot to find the right light on your canvas and palette. It's all a bit different from my Studio at home, but we are getting there! Have a look at some interior images here as published in Barga News!
From the 1st of May the last COVID regulations will drop (fingers crossed) so we can prepare than for an official opening later in May. I'll let you know in time about the program for that day!
For now a big thank you for everybody who has visited the Gallery in person, send flowers and/or supportive letters, all much appreciated! I do hope we will have a great Summer Season without COVID and peace in Ukraine!
